Hexagon releases M.App Enterprise 2021

With augmentend 3D visualisation and dynamic app configuration

24 March 2021, Apeldoorn, the Netherlands – Hexagon’s Geospatial division has released M.App Enterprise 2021, a significant update to its platform for creating geographic and location intelligence applications. The latest release includes new browser-based 3D capabilities and improved visual effects, as well as the ability to more easily build your own applications.

M.App Enterprise 2021 adds full and seamless integration with Hexagon’s LuciadRIA environment. With it, users can now use all the 3D capabilities of LuciadRIA, including support for panoramic photos, shading, custom depth of field and more visual effects. This allows browser solutions to be created without any programming.

The latest version also includes a new browser app configurator that makes it even easier to create time-space dashboards, known as Smart M.Apps. The Feature Analyzer has been extended so that users can now add and analyse multiple datasets on the fly and set up workflows. With these enhancements, more dynamic processes can be modelled, alerting workers in the field when action is required.

The city of Klagenfurt in Austria, a long-time Hexagon user, has already adopted the new M.App Enterprise 2021 platform to create an app platform for the city that incorporates a detailed 3D landscape of the entire city.

“This opens up infinite possibilities for applications that can automate various manual processes, for different departments in the municipality,” Günter Koren, head of the land surveying and GIS department in Klagenfurt, told us. “We believe that M.App Enterprise will be an essential step in our journey towards a smarter, safer city for our 100,000 inhabitants.”

Further enhancements have been added in this new release, including a revamp of the style editor, the ability to fully customise interfaces and full support for SAP HANA databases.

Digital Twin possibilities

As a Diamond Partner of Hexagon’s Geospatial Division, IMAGEM implements solutions based on this platform at organisations in the Benelux. “This new release further fulfils our vision of a Smart Digital Reality,” says Patrick de Groot, sales director at IMAGEM. “With M.App Enterprise 2021 organisations can realise smart monitoring, by seamlessly integrating location intelligence with organisation-wide systems and workflows. This makes your Digital Twin much more than a 3D viewing box; it gives you the ability to intervene directly, monitor the implementation of this and test the effect against policy.”
